You’ll work with plant scientists to translate cultivation challenges into data-driven solutions, potentially running greenhouse experiments, analyzing data, or interviewing growers.

This is first and foremost a plant science internship. You’ll work closely with our plant scientists, data experts, and software engineers. Together, you’ll turn real cultivation challenges into data‑driven solutions. Depending on your project, you may run greenhouse experiments, analyse data, or interview growers and industry experts.
This isn’t a lab‑coat research role. We want someone who understands the greenhouse and enjoys working with plants. The data part grows with you, and we support you throughout. No advanced coding is expected.
* Possible projects: we’ll shape your project together at the start, based on your interests and our priorities. To show the range, possible topics include:
Strawberry plant registration and harvest forecasting
Leaf area index: refining how we calculate it
Multi‑channel LED lighting: how light recipes can improve plant health and yield
Product development: building custom calculations and workflows for growers
* These are examples, not a fixed list.
Real exposure to how commercial growers make decisions
High ownership: you’ll see how your work connects to the tools growers use
Hands‑on experience with greenhouse research and real‑world crop data
Experience working with AI tools in a scientific setting
Mentorship from plant scientists and data specialists
Skills that transfer to agtech, applied research, and data‑driven plant science
You’re a Bachelor’s or Master’s student in Horticulture, Agronomy, Plant Science, or a related field
You have practical experience growing vegetables, ideally in a production greenhouse, through an earlier internship or your studies
You understand how plants grow and develop in a commercial setting
You like working with data, and you’re curious about coding. Experience with data analysis tools or programming is a plus
You enjoy using AI tools, or you’re keen to learn. We use them every day in our work
You’re excited to bring your practical knowledge into a software team
You’re comfortable working in English
You live in the Netherlands and is enrolled at a Dutch university for the whole internship
