Job summary

SITS Group in the Netherlands is seeking a PKI Specialist to strengthen digital identities across client environments. You will apply cryptography expertise to design, implement, and maintain certificate and key management solutions.

You will advise on post-quantum readiness, GDPR/ISO27001 compliance, and work in a hybrid setup with flexible hours and learning time for certifications. 32-40 hours/week with occasional Waardenburg office visits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity consulting, preferably applied crypto.
• Experience with security tools like Thales and Keyfactor is a plus.
• Education and certifications related to cybersecurity are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Requirements Analysis & Design: map crypto needs and design solutions.
• Implementation & Configuration: support cryptography setup.
• Operations: act as SME in cryptography and applied crypto.
• Technical Guidance: provide ongoing support to customers.
• Documentation: develop and maintain crypto solution docs.
• Mentoring: share expertise with colleagues in the crypto unit.

Join us as Public Key Infrastructure(PKI) Specialistand play a key role in enhancing the security of our clients’ digital environments. Using yourexpertisein Applied Cryptography technologies,you’llsafeguard sensitive data, prevent unauthorized access, and advise customers on future-proofing their security—from post-quantum readiness to automating certificates and key materials.

What you’ll do as PKI specialist

• Requirements Analysis & Design : Actively engage in client consultations to map out Applied Crypto needs and deliver tailored solution designs.
• Implementation & Configuration: Supporting the implementation and configuration of Cryptography solutions.
• Operations : Be one of the Subject Matter experts in Cryptography and gain understanding of the role of Applied Crypto in an organisation.
• Technical Guidance: Serve as an Applied Crypto expert andoffering ongoing technical support.
• Documentation : Develop andmaintaindocumentation for Applied Crypto solutions and processes.
• Mentoring : Share yourexpertiseby providing guidance to colleagues within the Applied Crypto unit.
• Security and Compliance : Ensure that the PKI adheres to applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, including GDPR and ISO 27001, whilemaintainingthe integrity of infrastructure security.
• Self-Developmen t: Enhance your professionalexpertiseby pursuing certifications in leading technologies such asKeyFactorEJBCA,KeyFactorCommand, and Thales HSMs to remain informed about industry trends.

Whatyou’ll bring to the team

• Experience: 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity consulting, preferably applied crypto (i.e. key management, certificate lifecycle management).__Experience with security tools like Thales &Keyfactoris a plus.
• Skills: Driven by a continuous learning mindset, you are an analytical and creative problem-solver with a passion for designing & delivering quality-driven solutions. You balance your attention to detail with proactive curiosity. Youdemonstratestrong ownership,accountabilityand effective stakeholder management skills.
• Languages: Fluentproficiencyin English andbusiness proficient in Dutch.
• Education/certifications: Completed technical HBO+ education or an equivalent levelacquiredthrough work experience. Relevant cybersecurity certifications (i.e. CISSP and CISM) is a plus.
• Availability: You are available for at least 32 hours per week and are available to come to our Waardenburg offices on aweekly basis.
• Driver’s License: You have a valid EU driver’s license.
• Work Eligibility: You must already hold a valid working visa for and already live in theNLto qualify for this role.
