Job summary

Maastricht University invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor in Complex Systems and Urban & Regional Modelling. You will help build a new research line in Heerlen, strengthen complex systems thinking in interdisciplinary education, and contribute to the Bachelor Urban Sustainability Studies.

Initially you will work in Heerlen and Maastricht, shifting to Heerlen as the program grows, with teaching and research responsibilities and collaboration across campuses.

Qualifications

• PhD in complex systems, urban systems, or related field.
• Ability to develop an independent research line.
• Experience in interdisciplinary teaching.
• Willingness to build new initiatives in Heerlen.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and develop urban and regional modelling research.
• Teach courses in complex systems theory and urban sustainability.
• Coordinate course development and curriculum innovation.
• Supervise theses and mentor students.
• Build collaborations across research groups and external partners.
