Qualifications

  • PhD or equivalent in electrical engineering or physical sciences.
  • Minimum three years of experience in photonic integrated circuit design.
  • Experience with multiple design software, GUI- and script-based.
  • Experience with automation and data analysis using Python.
  • Ability to translate high-level requirements to design workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with open source software tools is an advantage.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams across Europe.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a formalised design flow for PICs using common software tools.
  • Interface with open-source tools to implement the PIC design flow.
  • Adapt photonic PDKs to software tools and workflows.
  • Apply standardized data exchange methods between tools.
  • Derive seamless design flows to integrate photonic tech with other systems.
  • Collaborate with designers and tool developers across Europe.
  • Translate requirements into tangible deliverables.
  • Senior candidates may engage with stakeholders and standards bodies.
