Job summary

eyeo is seeking an experienced Photonics Design Engineer to advance color splitters and imaging technologies. The role centers on leading design concepts and developing novel photonic devices within a startup environment.

You will collaborate with internal and external teams, analyze data against simulations, and contribute to IP strategy while shaping the company’s photonics roadmap and product portfolio.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Photonics/Optical Engineering/Physics or related field.
• Proven experience in photonic design and development.
• Strong understanding of photonic materials, devices, and systems.
• Proficient in optical design tools such as Lumerical and Zemax.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptualization and design of advanced photonic devices, with a focus on color splitters.
• Collaborate with internal and external cross-functional teams to integrate photonic solutions into our products.
• Conduct research and stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in photonics and imaging.
• Analyze measured data, compare with simulations, and prepare reports.
• Support internal departments with photonic related queries/requests.
• Identification and evaluation of new ideas to bring this to protected intellectual property.
• Present findings and progress to stakeholders and contribute to strategic planning.
