Job summary

The PhD position on Video-based Hand Motion-tracking for Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis at TU Delft invites a talented MSc graduate to join the Biomechanical Engineering Department. You will develop computational models and video-based tools to capture hand movement in home environments.

You will work with video data, musculoskeletal models and pose estimation, contribute to open-source repositories, and help investigate flare timings in daily life as part of the 'Care is coming home'

Qualifications

• MSc in engineering or similar by start date.
• Experience with mechanical modeling and simulation.
• Experience in programming with C++, Python, Matlab, etc.
• Experience collecting human experimental data (movement/video).
• Excellent written and oral English.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply computational models and video-based tools to capture hand movement and function.
• Work with video data, musculoskeletal models, and pose estimation algorithms.
• Contribute to open source repositories and data archives as part of the project.
• Mentor and teach BSc/MSc students and present at conferences.
