Koninklijk Nederlands Lucht- en Ruimtevaartcentrum (NLR) invites applications for a PhD project on aircraft noise propagation modelling in urban environments. Based in Amsterdam, you will work with TU/e to develop and validate next‑generation models, including binaural VR simulations for perception studies.

The role combines applied research with academic supervision, and offers a four‑year research appointment under NLR and TU/e supervision.

Qualificações

• Master's degree in Acoustics, Physics, Aerospace or related field.
• Strong programming background in MATLAB and/or Python.
• Excellent written and spoken English; Dutch is desirable but not required.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and validate a next‑generation noise propagation model for UAM.
• Generate monaural and binaural simulations for perception studies.
• Coordinate with TU/e for PhD trajectory and supervision.
• Lead validation campaigns in urban-like environments.
