Job summary

Delft University of Technology hosts a PhD project focused on Quantum CFD, combining numerical analysis, quantum computing and aerospace engineering. You will design and test quantum algorithms, develop software, and evaluate performance on simulators and potential real quantum hardware.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (or near completion) in a related field.
  • Strong background in numerical methods, scientific computing, or quantum computing.
  • Excellent programming skills in Python and/or C++.
  • Interest in quantum algorithms and emerging research areas.
  • Strong analytical and teamwork skills and English proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the foundations of Quantum Computational Fluid Dynamics (Quantum CFD).
  • Investigate how fluid dynamics can be simulated on quantum computers by designing novel quantum algorithms.
  • Implement software and evaluate performance on quantum computer simulators and possibly real hardware.
  • Collate interdisciplinary research at the interface of fundamental science and aerospace engineering.
