Job summary

Maastricht University invites applications for a PhD Candidate in Metabolic Inflammation and COPD within FHML and NUTRIM. The project studies diet-induced metaflammation and COPD using large datasets, aiming to develop intervention strategies.

You will collaborate across clinical and laboratory settings and publish your findings. We offer a 12-month contract with a potential 3-year extension, a salary range of €3,204–€4,051 gross per month, holiday and year-end bonuses, and flexible/home-work

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field; strong interest in metaflammation, dietary factors and COPD pathology.
• Experience with large datasets in statistical software (R, Python or SPSS).
• Proficiency in English at CEFR level C1 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Investigate diet-induced metabolic alterations and metaflammation and their relation to COPD risk and progression.
• Explore effects of targeted nutritional or pharmacological interventions.
• Present findings at national and international conferences and publish in scientific journals.
