Delft University of Technology invites applications for a PhD position focused on Indoor Thermal Natural Variation for Heat Resilience. You will combine citizen science, field data and modelling to help develop healthier and more energy-efficient homes.

Based in the AE&T Department, you will study how natural indoor temperature variation affects residents’ perceptions and building performance under Dutch conditions, collaborating with housing partners and industry to support climate

Formación

• MSc in architecture, architectural engineering, meteorology or atmospheric sciences, environmental sciences, or civil engineering.
• Interest in human perception, building design and climate change.
• Motivation to conduct research with residents in real-world dwellings in the Netherlands.
• Affinity with modelling and analysing indoor and outdoor environmental conditions.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct research within the Nature 4 Homes project using citizen science, field data and modelling.
• Investigate how natural variation in indoor thermal conditions influences residents’ perceptions and interactions with the building envelope.
• Develop new methods to characterize indoor variation and predict outcomes using climate scenarios.
• Collaborate with residents, housing corporations and industry partners within a cross-disciplinary team.
