The Department of Social, Economic, and Organizational Psychology at Leiden University invites applications for a PhD position in the context of the NWO Zwaartekracht consortium Adapt! (1 fte, 4 years). The PhD candidate will work within Adapt! and be supervised by Prof. Dr.

Daan Scheepers, Dr. Annabel Losecaat Vermeer, and Prof. Dr. Arjen Boin. Using group-based experiments, the project examines group dynamics and decision-making under crisis conditions, focusing on leadership, accountability

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Psychology or related discipline by start date.
• Interest in team dynamics and decision-making under uncertainty.
• Experience with quantitative and experimental methods; data analysis with R/Python.

Responsibilities

• Develop and pilot a group decision-making paradigm and conduct studies examining task processes and group dynamics.
• Collect, manage, and analyse behavioural and physiological data.
• Complete a PhD thesis in English within 4 years.
• Participate in regular meetings and collaborative research activities within the team and Adapt! consortium.
• Publish several articles in peer-reviewed journals.
• Present findings at national and international conferences.
• Engage in Graduate School activities and national graduate schools.
