The University of Amsterdam invites applications for a four-year PhD position at the interface of machine learning and biology. You will develop novel algorithms for analysing single-cell (multi)-omics data and design in silico experiments to test them.

As an active member of the research group you will collaborate with biologists, contribute to teaching and supervision, and lead manuscript writing for publication in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.

Qualifications

• MSc in Bioinformatics, AI, Data Science, Biostatistics or related discipline.
• Experience training ML/DL models, preferably with Python.
• Basic biology knowledge or interest in computational biology.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.

Responsabilités

• Complete a four-year PhD thesis within official appointment duration.
• Develop novel algorithms for analyzing single-cell (multi)-omics data.
• Lead manuscript writing for publication in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
• Participate in PhD training programme and assist with teaching and supervision.
