SCM, Software for Chemistry & Materials B.V., Amsterdam, invites a PhD student to join the CHIRALNANOMAT network and contribute to the vibrational spectroscopies on chiral surfaces project.

The role covers developing DFT-based methods for IR and VCD of chiral molecules on surfaces, with emphasis on focusing spectra and collaboration with academic and industrial partners.

Fully-funded Marie Curie PhD fellowship is available with strong salary and research funding conditions.

Qualifications

• MSc graduates with an interest in chemistry/physics or related fields.
• Theoretical chemistry/physics MSc graduates with an interest in quantum chemistry or molecular physics.

Responsibilities

• Develop methods for IR and VCD calculations for chiral molecules on surfaces.
• Improve focus of spectrum calculations to larger systems to reduce computational cost.
• Collaborate with characterization teams and experimental/industrial partners to validate tools.
