Job summary

AMOLF in Amsterdam Science Park invites applications for a PhD project using ultrafast spectroscopic techniques to study water–surfactant interfaces. The goal is to develop methods that reduce the amount of surfactants used in industrial applications with environmental benefits. The successful candidate will join the Ultrafast Spectroscopy group of Prof.

Dr. H.J. Bakker, collaborate with Hogeschool Fontys, and receive housing and visa assistance.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Physics or Physical Chemistry.

Responsibilities

• Study interfacial properties of aqueous surfactant solutions using ultrafast spectroscopy.
• Develop methods to reduce surfactant use in industrial applications.
• Collaborate with the Ultrafast Spectroscopy group and Hogeschool Fontys.
• Four-year PhD appointment under NWO-I.
• PhD salary starts at €2,781 gross per month.
