Job summary

Radboud university medical center invites a highly motivated PhD candidate to join a multidisciplinary program exploring how electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) restores neuroplasticity in depression. The project combines MRI, EEG and TMS-EEG with computational modelling within a national consortium.

Based at Nijmegen, you will coordinate longitudinal studies, recruit patients, perform neuroimaging and neurophysiological analyses, and integrate data with clinical and cognitive measures.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a numerate discipline (e.g., statistics, mathematics, neuroscience, psychology).
• Strong analytical skills and experience with statistics or programming (R, Python or MATLAB) are essential.
• Affinity with MRI and/or (TMS)-EEG research, and genuine interest in psychiatry and brain stimulation.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and assess patients undergoing ECT.
• Coordinate longitudinal MRI, EEG and TMS-EEG measurements in these patients.
• Perform neurophysiological and neuroimaging analyses.
• Integrate clinical, cognitive and neurophysiological data.
• Present your work at international conferences.
• Publish in leading journals in psychiatry and neuroscience.
• Complete a PhD thesis within four years.
