Job summary

Maastricht University is inviting applications for a PhD Candidate in Neuromodulation of Brain Oscillations during Cognition. You will study neural oscillation dynamics in relation to working memory using real-time EEG and non-invasive brain stimulation, contributing to the PRECHRON ERC-funded project.

You will collect and analyze data, publish papers, present at meetings, and teach at undergraduate and master's levels, within a collaborative lab in the Department of Cognitive Neuroscience, FPN.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Cognitive Neuroscience, Neuroscience, Biomedical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Psychology, or a closely related field.
• Experience with EEG, non-invasive brain stimulation, or other physiological measurement techniques used in human research. Experience with TMS and/or tACS, EEG data collection, or combined EEG-brain stimulation paradigms is an advantage.
• Knowledge of human cognition and working memory, demonstrated through coursework, a research project, thesis, or previous research experience.
• Programming for research purposes (MATLAB, Python, or similar) for data analysis, experimental task development, or processing experimental data.
• Team player but can work independently; strong English (CEFR C1+); Dutch is an advantage.
