Résumé du poste

Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) seeks a PhD candidate to build a computational model for nanoparticle transport in human tissue within the SYNERGIE project. You will join Dr. Sepinoud Azimi and perform Bayesian calibration using nine tissue models.

You will also release open-source software, contribute to teaching, and collaborate with a broad European consortium. Start date January 2027 with a competitive Dutch university package.

Qualifications

  • MSc in applied mathematics, computational science, physics, systems biology, or a closely related quantitative field.
  • Demonstrated experience building and solving ODE or dynamical systems models.
  • Demonstrated experience with Bayesian inference in PyMC, Stan, or NumPyro.
  • Strong scientific programming in Python; provide a repository link.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsabilités

  • Build a mechanistic model of particle movement across nine tissues and calibrate it against experimental data using Bayesian inference.
  • Identify properties that determine tissue destination and outcome for particles.
  • Develop methods beyond prediction to suggest minimal changes for improvement.
  • Release the model as open-source software and support its regulatory use.
