Job summary

The Delft University of Technology invites applications for a four-year PhD position on distribution systems flexible operation under uncertainty. You will work in the Intelligent Electrical Power Grids group, supervised by Dr. Pedro P.

Vergara and Prof. Peter Palensky, applying ML/OR to DER coordination and observability. Join a multidisciplinary team within EEMCS and contribute to open science, teaching activities, and industrial collaborations as part of the Future Network Services project

Qualifications

• MSc in a highly technical related discipline and top of class.
• Excellent analytical skills with ML and/or OR foundations.
• Strong English communication; TOEFL/IELTS scores may be requested.
• Independent, motivated, and keen to collaborate with partners.

Responsibilities

• Assist in teaching activities and supervise students.
• Collaborate with industrial partners and academics across disciplines.
• Develop AI/ML methods for coordinating DERs and smart buildings.
• Publish research results and share code and data openly.
