Job summary

The PhD position at TU Delft in Delft Center for Systems and Control (DCSC) focuses on adaptive optimization and control of offshore energy systems. You will work with researchers to merge online data‑driven modelling with optimization‑based methods to enable practical deployment on existing offshore infrastructure.

Teaching activities are part of the PhD trajectory and may include supervising lab sessions or mentoring BSc and MSc students.

Qualifications

  • MSc degree in Systems and Control, Chemical Engineering or similar field (essential).
  • Prior experience with optimization algorithms (essential).
  • Prior experience with process modelling and control (desirable).
  • Prior experience with offshore energy (desirable).
  • Strong collaboration, communication and writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise workgroups or lab sessions.
  • Assist in courses.
  • Mentor BSc and MSc students.
  • Teaching will not exceed 20% of the appointment.
