Permitting and Regulatory Reform Specialist (CRM Projects)

Location: Europe

Estimated Workload: Short-term assignments / task-based consultancy

About the Opportunity: We are creating a pool of Permitting and Regulatory Reform Specialists (CRM Projects) for a new FWC Contract: EC-SG REFORM/2025/OP/0001: Provision of consultancy services to support the design, development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of structural reforms in EU Member State. Experts in this pool will be contacted for specific assignments as they arise. If you have relevant experience we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review permitting procedures for CRM projects and propose streamlined, accelerated frameworks.
  • Draft practical recommendations for establishing one-stop-shops for CRM extraction permitting.
  • Support administrative reforms to boost national preparedness and resilience in CRM supply chains.
  • Provide regulatory guidance for critical materials investments and compliance with EU legislation.

Qualifications:

  • Background in law, environmental permitting, or industrial regulation.
  • At least 7 years of experience with permitting regimes or regulatory simplification processes.
  • Strong knowledge of mining, waste recovery, or resource efficiency regulatory environments.
  • Prior experience with EU-funded reforms or legislative advisory roles is an asset.
