Job summary

Picnic is hiring a People Partner for Tech at our Amsterdam HQ to shape how we attract, onboard and develop talent across software, product and data teams. You’ll partner with tech leaders to design staffing plans, drive development conversations, and implement people initiatives that support fast growth in a scaleup environment.

You’ll lead performance reviews, coach leaders, and manage cross-functional projects with a data-driven mindset.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in HR, Psychology or similar.
• 3 to 5 years of experience as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate understanding of the business and act as a thought leader on people topics within tech.

In a nutshell

Our People team strives to revolutionize human resources in the same way that Picnic has revolutionized grocery delivery. Picnic’s central team is built of 1,000 talented individuals across Amsterdam, Paris, and Düsseldorf. The People team consists of 15 People Business Partners that take full responsibility for the development and organization of everyone in the central team. As a People Business Partner - Tech , you will be responsible for approximately 75 Picnic-ers in our Tech domain (including Software Engineers, Product Owners, and Data Engineers).

Your responsibilities will vary from conducting reviews, working on people-related projects, and having development conversations with our tech teams. You’ll demonstrate an understanding of the business and act as a thought leader regarding people topics within tech. You’ll partner with a cross-functional group of tech experts to design and execute the strategy for how your assigned team: staffs, onboards, develops, rotates, motivates, retains, and organizes.

Tricks of the trade

• Performance management: Drive performance and talent by conducting check-ins and bi-annual reviews and performance calibrations with employees
• People management: Be a trusted advisor and a coach to the tech leadership team and play a critical role in enhancing leadership effectiveness
• Staffing: Manage talent to ensure the right people are in the right roles
• Project management: Drive people-related initiatives, provide insightful data to guide decision-making, and provide proactive solutions
• Continuous improvement: Design and improve people programs (including staffing, onboarding, learning & development and rotation processes)
• Staffing: Manage talent to ensure the right people are in the right roles
• Stakeholder management: Enable tech business leaders to cultivate an effective leadership pipeline
• Documentation: Conduct all admin-related tasks around development agreements, contracts, and compensation

Your superpowers

• Master’s degree in HR, Psychology or similar
• 3 to 5 years of experience as an HR Advisor, HR Business Partner, or similar
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders
• Project management and operations experience
• Driven to challenge convention and reinvent how work is done
• Natural ability to coach and develop teams
• Ability to see the big picture and data-driven approach
• Passionate about people and able to work with colleagues of all levels
• Fluency in English and Dutch is a plus
