What are you going to do?

As People Lead Research and Development within Livestock, you will play a key role in the development of our people and teams within the R&D department. You will support professionals in their growth, strengthen collaboration and help the organisation to develop further. In addition, you will contribute ideas and work towards continuously improving the Way of Working within the product development department.

People Coach & Workforce Management:

Your role is to bring out the best in people and teams. This involves applying your coaching skills on both a personal and professional level. Paying attention to the individual is crucial in this regard. Furthermore, organising the teams in the most effective way from a business perspective is also important to you. Together with the CaptainXL team, you are a vital link in the strategic implementation and execution of our plans, which contributes to the ambitions of our Business Unit

Your responsibilities

As People Lead Research and Development, you are a direct line manager and share leadership responsibilities with the Tech Area Lead, playing a key role, for example, in translating and implementing the strategy developed by the Leadership Team, as well as in professional development.

Throughout the employee journey, you are responsible for (among other things) onboarding and offboarding, (under)performance, support for (long-term) sick leave, recruitment and selection, escalations and conflict mediation.

Together with the Agile Coach, you are responsible for team performance; you foster team performance, enthusiasm, dedication and a results-oriented mindset.

You identify, facilitate, motivate and encourage employees in their work and personal development. You ensure high-quality performance and development reviews, thereby promoting employees’ development and performance.

Your team

Your teams are multidisciplinary and comprise the disciplines required to design, develop and test the product, enabling the team to see the product through to completion and maintain it. The Product Owner provides the team with the functional requirements needed to achieve the Livestock Management vision. Every team within Livestock plays a key role in automating the farm. This can range from managing hardware processes to providing management-level insights into results. You will be responsible for teams with a strong focus on data and software.

As People Lead Research and Development, you are part of CaptainsXL – a multidisciplinary leadership team comprising the Head of Tech, Tech Area Leads, Agile Coach, HR Business Partner and your fellow People Leads R&D. Together, we work at operational, tactical and strategic levels to continuously improve People, Process and Technology.
