Swift Transportation is seeking a Parts Manager to lead the parts department at our Amsterdam location. You will guide operations, supervise Parts Assistants, and drive continuous improvement while negotiating favorable prices with vendors.

The role emphasizes accurate ordering, data input, and maintaining records for warranties, shipping, and core returns. Prior leadership and inventory control experience are required for success.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years' experience in parts or inventory control required.
• Previous leadership experience preferred.
• Must be familiar with completing purchase orders and/or repair orders.
• Must be familiar with looking up parts and placing on-line orders using appropriate OEM websites.
• Must possess excellent 10 key and computer keyboarding skills.
• Must possess good written and oral communication skills.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and direction to parts department operations.
• Liaison between terminal leadership and Parts Assistants; support and guide staff.
• Assist leadership in identifying improvements and provide on-the-job training.
• Issue purchase orders and purchase parts at best price; negotiate with vendors.
• Stock, issue, process and input data related to POs and invoices.
• Ensure repair orders are complete and accurate; maintain shop records and statistics.
• Handle shipping, receiving, OS&D, warranty parts, and core storage.
• Manage obsolete parts, returns, and vendor relationships.
