Overview

The Operations Agent – Cruise Services is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day import/export of international freight forwarding shipments across air, road, and sea transportation based upon customer requests. He/she will provide special expertise in international cruise services operations.

Responsibilities

• Work with customers to qualify their shipping requirements and obtain all details (regulations, certificates, documentation) necessary for shipment quotation and operating in order to ensure the customer’s request is satisfied.
• Prepare profitable quotations accurately.
• Prepare waybills and customs documentation (in collaboration with the customs department).
• Accepting and booking shipments and handling of cross‑trade shipments.
• Coordinate air, sea, and road transport shipments.
• Provide suitable transport options and creative solutions when obstacles arise.
• Maintaining contact with the warehouse, customers, carriers, stevedores, shipping agents, hubs, airlines, and shipping companies.
• Partner with local sales teams to communicate problems to customers, international partners, and other stations, as needed.
• Ensure all customers’ SOP instructions are adhered to and AIT KPIs and guidelines are followed and met.
• Ensure all shipments are properly billed within company guidelines and timelines.
• Process and comply with all requirements listed by regulatory agencies.
• Network with corresponding departments to ensure files are billed and posted prior to end of month.
• Continuous learning through required compliance training and certifications of software and/or regulations.
• Other duties and responsibilities will be assigned as business demands deem necessary.
• Execute all Dangerous Goods shipments in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations (as applicable).
• Contribute actively to a healthy and secure work environment by reporting unsafe / unsecure / unhealthy conditions and possible improvements.

Qualifications

• MBO / HBO education level.
• Fluent Dutch and and communicative English is a must.
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience (logistics field).
• Familiarity with logistics, customs, and relevant legislation required.
• Attention to detail and a problem solving attitude.
• Flexible and eager to learn, with the willingness to take courses or follow trainings as required.
• Strong PC skills (Windows, Microsoft Office applications) preferred.
• Cargo Wise Software experience a plus.
• ITAR, Dangerous Goods or TSA work experience / regulations is a plus.
