Job summary

WLG in The Hague is seeking a Data Manager to maintain a large estate of geospatial data on on-site servers and in the cloud. You will organize datasets, perform validations, and support GIS platforms with the IT team, delivering maps and standard products for internal teams.

We value a geospatial degree with two years of experience or six years of progressive work, plus ArcGIS Pro expertise, mosaics, and strong data QA/QC. Fluent English and Excel prowess are essential.

Qualifications

• A degree in geospatial science or related field with two years' experience, or about six years of progressive hands-on work in the field.
• At least two years of geospatial data management and ESRI ArcGIS Pro experience, including mosaic datasets.
• Strong knowledge of coordinate systems, projections, metadata, and vector/raster formats; data QA/QC.
• Excellent Excel skills, analytical mindset, and fluent business English.
• Nice to have: ArcPy and ArcGIS Toolbox development, tile cache creation, and data prep for defence systems.

Responsibilities

• Organise and maintain geospatial datasets, metadata, geodatabases and spatial repositories.
• Run ingestion, transformation, validation and quality checks, and manage versions and data integrity.
• Support GIS platforms on premises and in the cloud—backups, documentation, obsolescence and day-to-day fixes.
• Perform daily spatial analysis, produce maps and standard products for teams.
• Participate in project meetings and propose more efficient data workflows.
