Job summary

Responsibilities

• All survey and positioning activities on the vessel
• Plan and supervise mobilisation activity with Project Support Manager
• Issue safety inductions, toolbox talks, non-conformance, near miss and incident reports
• Ensure policies, standards and work scopes are followed by survey crew
• Conduct project risk assessments and vessel briefings
• Ensure technical reports are issued on project timelines
• Compile and obtain client approval of vessel daily progress reports
• Ensure work meets safety, quality and technical specs and expectations
• Plan and monitor performance of survey crew; hold key personnel accountable
• Coordinate daily meetings with client representative to set objectives
• Apply change management on the vessel when required
• Share lessons learned with the Project Manager
• Promote and represent NextGeo
• Mentor offshore team and conduct periodic reviews

Job description

Having been recently awarded several key projects, NextGeo is once again expanding its team.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Offshore Party Chief who will take ownership of a project and act in the best interests of NextGeo. The successful candidate will be the technical authority whilst offshore, and the key interface between the survey team, client and shore ensuring that each discipline within the team is working collaboratively and harmoniously towards achieving the objectives.

Responsibilities will include

• All survey and positioning activities on the vessel
• Working with the Project Support Manager to plan and supervise mobilisation activity
• Carrying out safety inductions and toolbox talks, issuing non-conformance, near miss, incident, and accident reports when necessary, and reporting of project KPIs
• Ensuring all policies, standards and work scopes are understood and followed by the survey crew in line with project scope and client expectations
• Conducting project risk assessments and project briefings on vessels
• Ensuring that technical reports are issued in line with the project reporting timeframes
• Compilation and client approval of the vessel daily progress reports
• Ensuring work is carried out in line with NextGeo and the clients’ safety, quality and technical specifications and expectations (including quality non-conformances)
• Planning and monitoring the performance of survey crew members. Holding key personnel accountable for delivering daily work scopes/plans
• Working with the client representative, conducting daily meetings, review, plan, communicate and coordinate clear objectives and plans
• The correct application of change management on the vessel, should it be required
• Ensuring lessons learned by the offshore team during projects are on passed to the Project Manager
• Promoting and acting as an ambassador for NextGeo
• Acting as a mentor and undertaking training and periodic reviewing of the offshore team members’ performance
