Overview
Work Type: Permanent (Hybrid, 2 Days On-Site per Week). Experience Required: 6–10 years in Enterprise Network Design, Configuration, and Troubleshooting. Compensation: €80,000 Annual Fixed + Health Insurance.
A major Belgian public-sector technology organization is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join its Telecom Competence Center, supporting over 180 connected sites. The selected engineer will play a critical role in maintaining and evolving a large-scale Cisco-based network infrastructure. The position requires strong Cisco ACI, Routing & Switching, MPLS, and Wireless technologies, plus mentoring of junior team members and support for strategic infrastructure decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the organization’s multi-site Cisco network infrastructure ensuring high availability and performance.
- Configure and administer routing and switching components (Catalyst, VLANs, STP, HSRP, OSPF, BGP).
- Support and enhance Cisco ACI environments (EPG creation, Bridge Domains, port configuration).
- Configure and administer MPLS (BGP, VRF) routing solutions.
- Manage and optimize Cisco Catalyst Center (supervision, inventory management, automation).
- Administer Cisco ISE policies for access management and security.
- Deploy and maintain wireless networks using Cisco WLC 9800 controllers.
- Conduct network supervision and troubleshooting using diagnostic tools such as Wireshark.
- Contribute to strategic network planning in collaboration with the team lead.
- Mentor junior network engineers and share best practices across the team.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in Cisco network design, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Expertise in Routing & Switching (VLAN, OSPF, BGP, HSRP, STP).
- Strong practical knowledge of Cisco ACI, including EPG and Bridge Domain configuration.
- Proficiency in MPLS, VRF, and BGP routing protocols.
- Proven experience with Cisco Catalyst Center and ISE administration.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills with tools like Wireshark.
- Experience deploying and managing wireless networks (Cisco WLC 9800).
- Certification: Cisco CCIE (mandatory).
- Active knowledge of French and English (spoken and written).

- Experience in public sector or multi-site enterprise environments.
- Strong documentation and network diagramming skills.
- Exposure to network automation or orchestration tools.
- Ability to contribute to infrastructure modernization initiatives.
