Job summary

Nevesbu is seeking a Naval Designer to translate requirements into comprehensive designs for naval vessels and offshore structures. You will create plans, layouts, and 3D models that directly influence manufacturability and performance under harsh conditions.

You will work with engineers across disciplines, review supplier drawings for interface compliance, and mentor a team of designers. Strong English proficiency and a minimum of five years in naval design are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant naval design experience is expected.
• Proficiency in English is required.

Job description

Work on maritime systems where precision and reliability make all the difference. At Nevesbu, you'll have the freedom to shape complex designs and chart your own technical course.

As a Naval Designer, you translate technical requirements into well-thought-out designs for naval vessels and offshore structures. You develop plans, layouts, and 3D models that directly contribute to the ship's manufacturability and functionality. In doing so, you lay the foundation for ships that perform under the harshest conditions. You coordinate closely with engineers and other disciplines to ensure designs fit together seamlessly. Additionally, you review drawings from suppliers and verify that they meet operational requirements and interface specifications. You mentor designers and drafters, allocate work, and monitor quality and progress. Your insight and organisational skills result in designs that are accurate down to the last detail and can be executed within schedule.

You'll work in a team of about 20 naval architects and designers from various countries. The atmosphere is open and professionally rigorous: colleagues challenge and support one another. At Nevesbu, you'll work on defense and offshore projects, ranging from new construction to the modernisation of existing vessels. We embrace complex challenges but avoid unnecessary complexity. What do we expect from you?

Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture

At least 5 years of relevant work experience

Experience with 3D modeling and CAD software (Rhino, AutoCAD)

Preferred: experience with CADMATIC, Microstation, and 3D scanning

Experience with plans & arrangements and outfitting

You can mentor colleagues and evaluate work

Proficiency in English
