Job summary

Airswift is recruiting for a Naval Architecture Designer (Draftsman) (S) in Rotterdam to support hull arrangements, accommodation areas, and marine systems within FPSO projects. The role focuses on producing naval architecture drawings, ensuring safety, operability, and regulatory compliance, and coordinating across disciplines.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in engineering or naval architecture, understands ship layout and stability, and has experience with AutoCAD or E3D.

Qualifications

• Essential: Understanding of naval architecture fundamentals including ship layout, compartmentation, stability principles, weight distribution, and vessel operability.
• Essential: Knowledge of FPSO concepts, offshore vessel operations, and marine system integration.
• 0 to 5 years of experience in FPSO, Oil & Gas, or shipbuilding in Naval Architecture.
• Desirable: Hands-on experience with AutoCAD and/or E3D software.

Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain naval architecture drawings for FPSO hull arrangements, general arrangements, tank layouts, deck layouts, and accommodation or living quarters.
• Develop layouts that support stability, weight distribution, operability, safety, and maintainability across the vessel lifecycle.
• Prepare drawings and design data to support naval architectural analysis related to stability, weight control, draft, trim, and vessel motions.
• Incorporate interfaces for marine systems such as mooring, offloading, ballast, bilge, seawater, and marine piping into vessel layouts.
• Prepare and update 2D and 3D models using AutoCAD and/or E3D in line with engineering inputs and constructability requirements.
• Coordinate with structural, piping, mechanical, electrical, and outfitting disciplines to resolve layout clashes and interface issues.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant classification society rules, offshore regulations, and industry standards.
• Identify design constraints and technical risks early and escalation unresolved issues where required.

• Essential: Knowledge of FPSO concepts, offshore vessel operations, and marine system integration.
• Essential: 0 to 5 years of experience in the FPSO, Oil & Gas, or shipbuilding industry within the Naval Architecture discipline.
• Desirable: Hands-on experience with AutoCAD and/or E3D software.
• Desirable: Exposure to FPSO hull layouts, accommodation or living quarters, marine systems, and vessel operation.
