Job summary

Vacaturebank in The Hague, NL, seeks an AI Engineer to apply machine learning and data science techniques to new problems and datasets, evaluating model outcomes, performance, and data quality. You will identify issues in ML systems, design and maintain AI/ML components, and ensure secure, reliable engineering practices.

The role requires end-to-end AI/ML experience, expertise in Python, REST APIs, MLOps, and production-grade frameworks such as LangChain, Docker/Kubernetes, and FastAPI.

Qualifications

• Active NATO SECRET security clearance is required.
• Experience building end-to-end AI/ML pipelines with training, packaging, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Strong programming, software engineering, and AI development skills.
• Solid understanding of ML concepts, model evaluation and improvement techniques.
• Experience applying pre-trained models and generative AI to real use cases.
• Experience with RAG, embeddings, vector databases, and AI application architectures.

Responsibilities

• Apply ML and data science techniques to new problems and datasets, assessing model outcomes and data quality.
• Identify issues in ML systems and implement practical improvements.
• Design, develop, test, document, and maintain moderately complex AI/ML components.
• Adhere to engineering standards and secure development practices for reliable solutions.
• Support AI software lifecycle by eliciting requirements and deploying automation across dev/test/release/monitoring.
• Define AI modules for integration builds and validate against criteria.
• Build and improve data pipelines using ETL/ELT standards.
• Monitor progress, report risks, and collaborate across teams through reviews.
• Support technology assessments, roadmaps, and knowledge sharing.
