Job summary

Naturalis in Leiden invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow in Spectroscopy. You will develop multimodal bioimaging workflows, integrating hyperspectral imaging with RGB and X-ray data to study seaweed morphology and heavy metal distributions.

You will publish results, present internationally, and collaborate with Naturalis researchers and partners, with opportunities to mentor students and contribute to teaching.

Qualifications

• PhD in computational sciences, life sciences, or related field.
• Proven skills in optics, hyperspectral imaging, and bioimaging data analysis.
• Strong publication record and ability to communicate research clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate a multimodal bioimaging workflow combining RGB, hyperspectral imaging, and X-ray data.
• Calibrate and co-register imaging modalities to study spectral properties and morphology.
• Publish findings and present at international meetings; mentor students when possible.
