Job summary

Schubergphilis in Schiphol-Rijk is seeking a Mission Critical Security Engineer focused on Threat Hunting to protect complex, mission-critical environments. You will join a dedicated customer team and translate threat intel into proactive detections using a custom MDR platform.

You will bridge security engineering, detection engineering, and threat intelligence, refining detections, performing threat hunts, and collaborating with SOC and platform engineers to improve integrations and response

Qualifications

• Solid engineering fundamentals including Linux, networking and infrastructure behavior.
• Hands-on experience with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or similar platforms.
• Experience with CI/CD, Git, and configuration management or infrastructure-as-code tooling.
• Strong automation mindset and the ability to translate problems into scalable solutions.
• Experience working with logs and telemetry to analyze system behavior.
• Experience with Python and/or Bash scripting.
• Familiarity with SIEM or log analytics platforms such as OpenSearch, Elastic, Splunk, or Microsoft Sentinel.

Responsibilities

• Threat intelligence & continuous improvement: translate threats into hunts and detections.
• Communication & advisory: translate findings to engineers and stakeholders; collaborate with SOC.
• Detection engineering & threat hunting: develop detection use cases and perform hunts.
• Use case development & response design: define actions when detections trigger and refine logic.
• Platform collaboration: leverage the MDR platform and improve integrations and automation.
