Job summary

Chainlink SA is hiring two Field Service Technicians in Middelburg to install, maintain, troubleshoot and commission electrical equipment and control systems for open-pit mining operations. You will work with AC/DC rotating equipment, handle preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensure safety and reliability in a global technology business.

Requirements include Grade 12, N6 or Diploma in Electronic Engineering, instrumentation qualification, 5+ years' experience, and PLC familiarity

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric is required.
• N6 or Diploma in Electronic Engineering.
• Instrumentation trade qualification is required.
• Minimum 5 years' relevant experience.
• Experience with mining equipment and control systems.
• PLC experience with Siemens, ABB and Allen-Bradley.
• Advanced computer literacy.
• Valid driver's license.
• Good communication and decision-making skills.
• Commitment to safety and environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mining equipment.
• Fault finding, troubleshooting, repairs and component replacements.
• Install, maintain and commission electrical and control systems.
• Respond to breakdowns and restore machinery to safe condition.
• Work with AC and DC rotating equipment.
• Complete job cards, work orders and maintenance reports.
• Identify equipment deficiencies and provide feedback for planning.
• Adhere to site safety procedures and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with customers and technical teams for reliability.
