Job summary

nhow Amsterdam RAI offers a Meeting & Events Intern position within a dynamic, design-forward hotel environment on the Amsterdam RAI campus. You will be involved in the preparation, setup, guest greeting, and on-the-floor execution of meetings and events across multiple spaces on the 23rd and 24th floors, in collaboration with the Amsterdam RAI Convention Centre.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in hospitality management, events, or similar course and this internship is required by your school.
• Good command of English.
• You can work independently as well as in a team and you have a guest-oriented attitude.
• You are stress resistant, you have good communication skills and you have a flexible attitude in terms of working hours and work pressure.
• In addition, you are innovative, resourceful, have a commercial attitude and are available for at least 4 months.

Responsibilities

• Learn all ins-and-outs of running various meetings and events in a large hotel.
• Involved in preparation for the meeting, the set-up of the meeting room, meet & greet the guests, troubleshooting during the events, food and drink service, clearing up and break down of the events.
• Support banqueting operations for small boardroom to large product launches with open bar and dinner in the evening.
• Work in a hands-on floor internship, not an office-based events organizing internship.

nhow Amsterdam RAI is a social and multicultural hub for globetrotters, business travelers, and Amsterdam locals. The impressive 91-metre-tall building is located in the Zuidas district, right next to the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre, offering its guests a dynamic headquarters and home base.

For this iconic social hub, we are looking for a Meeting & Events Intern who is

enthusiastic, proactive, and is ready to take part in a dynamic design hotel. The hotel

has 10 modern meeting spaces located on the 23rd and 24th floor, with stunning 360°

views of Amsterdam. In collaboration with the Amsterdam RAI Convention Centre, we

help facilitate smaller team meetings, presentations, after-parties, social gathering,

product launches, and much more. The Meeting & Events Operations team, or

Banqueting team as we call it, is small but mighty and it consists of Banqueting

Manager, two Supervisors, 2 full-time waiters, and a team of flex-pool colleagues.

What part will you play in creating the unforgettable?

As a Food & Beverage Intern - Banqueting you will learn all the ins-and-outs of running various meetings and events in a large hotel. This can range from a small boardroom meeting for 10 pax, an all-day meeting for 80 pax including lunch and breaks, to a product launch for 200 pax with an open bar and walk-in dinner in the evening. You will be involved in the preparation for the meeting, the set-up of the meeting room, meet & greet the guests, troubleshooting during the events, food and drink service, clearing up and break down of the events.

Note : that is an operational hands-on the floor internship and not office-based events organizing internship.
