Job summary

Kyndryl Nederland B.V. is seeking an experienced OpenShift/Kubernetes administrator to manage and secure our OpenShift platform and underlying infrastructure. You will support platform projects, automate operations, and collaborate with development, app, and IT teams to ensure high availability and security.

The role emphasizes lifecycle management, incident response, and ongoing professional development in OpenShift, Linux, and container technologies.

Qualifications

• HBO level ICT education preferred.
• Hands‑on experience with Linux/infrastructure environments.
• RHCSA or RHCE certification is advantageous.
• Experience managing OpenShift and Kubernetes environments.
• Familiarity with automation and IaC tools.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and secure a stable OpenShift platform and underlying IT infrastructure.
• Manage OpenShift environments for availability, performance, and manageability.
• Support projects and platform enhancements, e.g., onboarding containers and security improvements.
• Automate and standardize management tasks with Ansible, Bash, or similar tooling.
• Collaborate with development, application, and IT infrastructure teams to resolve incidents and drive improvements.
• Perform root-cause analyses and contribute to lifecycle management (patching, upgrades, version control).

The Role

• Je handelt proactief om een stabiel, betrouwbaar en veilig OpenShift-platform en de onderliggende ICT-infrastructuur te creëren, te bewaken en up-to-date te houden;
• Je beheert en onderhoudt Red Hat OpenShift-omgevingen en zorgt voor een optimale beschikbaarheid, performance en beheersbaarheid van het platform;
• Je ondersteunt projecten en verbeterinitiatieven, zoals container onboarding, platformontwikkeling en server- en platformbeveiliging;
• Je zorgt voor beheersbare, gestandaardiseerde en schaalbare omgevingen en draagt bij aan het verder professionaliseren van het platformbeheer;
• Je ondersteunt gebruikers, ontwikkel- en applicatieteams bij het identificeren en oplossen van incidenten, technische problemen en beveiligingskwetsbaarheden binnen het OpenShift-platform;
• Je pakt incidenten, storingen en technische wijzigingen op en zorgt voor een correcte en structurele afhandeling;
• Je bewaakt de beschikbaarheid, performance, capaciteit en stabiliteit van het OpenShift-platform en de onderliggende infrastructuur;
• Je analyseert mogelijke problemen, voert root‑cause analyses uit en denkt actief mee over structurele verbeteringen;
• Je draagt bij aan het lifecycle management van het platform, waaronder patching, upgrades en versiebeheer van OpenShift en de onderliggende componenten;
• Je verdiept je waar nodig in de architectuur, networking, storage en beveiliging van het OpenShift-platform;
• Je draagt bij aan het implementeren en onderhouden van securitymaatregelen, waaronder RBAC, security policies, certificaten en netwerksegmentatie;
• Je automatiseert en standaardiseert beheerwerkzaamheden waar mogelijk, bijvoorbeeld met Ansible, Bash en/of andere relevante tooling;
• Je werkt samen met ontwikkel-, applicatie- en IT-infrastructuurteams en biedt incidenteel ondersteuning bij complexere technische vraagstukken;
• Je draagt actief bij aan de verdere ontwikkeling en professionalisering van het OpenShift-platform en de bijbehorende beheerprocessen.

Who You Are

• Je hebt HBO werk- en denkniveau en bij voorkeur een afgeronde opleiding in de richting van ICT;
• Je hebt relevante werkervaring in een vergelijkbare functie binnen Linux-, platform- of infrastructuurbeheer;
• Je beschikt over vaktechnische kennis van datacenter- en infrastructuuromgevingen, waaronder storage, networking en virtualisatie;
• Je hebt aantoonbare kennis en ervaring met Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) / CoreOs
• Je hebt ervaring met het beheren van Kubernetes- en Red Hat OpenShift-omgevingen;
• Je hebt kennis van de belangrijkste OpenShift- en Kubernetes-concepten, zoals Pods, Deployments, Services, Routes, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Operators, RBAC en Persistent Volumes;
• Je hebt ervaring met containertechnologie, bijvoorbeeld Podman, Docker en/of andere OCI-conforme containertechnologie;
• Je hebt ervaring met het uitvoeren van OpenShift lifecycle management, waaronder patching, upgrades, versiebeheer en troubleshooting;
• Je hebt ervaring met het monitoren en analyseren van de beschikbaarheid, performance en capaciteit van OpenShift- en Linux-omgevingen;
• Je hebt kennis van OpenShift networking, storage en security;
• Je hebt ervaring met scripting en automatisering, bijvoorbeeld met Ansible, Bash en/of Python;
• Je hebt een sterke drive om beheerwerkzaamheden te automatiseren, standaardiseren en vereenvoudigen;
• Je hebt kennis van ITIL 4 en begrijpt de principes van incident-, change- en problemmanagement;
• Je bent analytisch sterk, werkt zelfstandig en bent in staat technische problemen zelfstandig te onderzoeken en structureel op te lossen;
• Je bent bereid om je kennis continu verder te ontwikkelen op het gebied van OpenShift, Kubernetes, Linux en containertechnologie.
• Je beschikt over een RHCSA- en/of RHCE-certificering;

Gewenst

• Je beschikt over een relevante Red Hat OpenShift-certificering, bijvoorbeeld EX280 – Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration, of vergelijkbare aantoonbare kennis en ervaring;
• Je hebt ervaring met Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform;
• Je hebt ervaring met OpenShift Operators en Operator Lifecycle Management (OLM);
• Je hebt kennis van OpenShift security, waaronder RBAC, Security Contexts, NetworkPolicies, Secrets en certificaatbeheer;
• Je hebt ervaring met OpenShift Storage, bijvoorbeeld OpenShift Data Foundation (ODF) of vergelijkbare storage‑oplossingen;
• Je hebt ervaring met monitoring en logging, bijvoorbeeld Prometheus, Grafana en de OpenShift logging stack;
• Je hebt ervaring met Git en CI/CD en bent bekend met geautomatiseerde deploymentprocessen;
• Je hebt kennis van Infrastructure as Code (IaC), bijvoorbeeld Terraform;
• Je hebt een basisopleiding in Agile/Scrum gevolgd en/of ervaring met werken in een Agile omgeving;
• Je hebt ervaring met het beheren van OpenShift in een hybride of cloudomgeving.
