Job summary

The University Medical Center Groningen invites a Mechatronics Engineer to join an international team designing a cryogenic organ perfusion test stand. You will develop 3D models, document interfaces, tolerances and BOMs, and hand off geometry for simulation and manufacturing.

The role is based in Groningen with occasional weeks in Zürich, Switzerland. The appointment runs for two years at 28.8–36 hours per week (0.8–1.0 fte) with a monthly salary of €3,897 to €5,341 and CAO-UMC terms.

Qualifications

• Master-level degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical or Biomedical Engineering.
• Strong 3D CAD and prototyping experience with hands-on build skills.
• Ability to collaborate in an international research setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 3D models, assemblies, and mechanical layouts for the perfusion test stand.
• Prepare design documentation including interfaces, tolerances, and BOM-style lists.
• Update models as system architecture evolves during design reviews.
• Export geometry for simulation and manufacturing (e.g. STEP).
• Collaborate with PhD researchers, postdocs and European partners.
• Work mainly in Groningen with occasional weeks in Zürich, Switzerland.
