Job description

In the fast-growing small satellite market, we are looking for a motivated Mechanical Assembly Technician at starter level to join our Manufacturing Assembly, Integration and Testing department. You will be at heart of the manufacturing activities focused on the realisation of electronics subsystems for our missions.

ISISPACE offers a career in mechanical integration of satellite subsystems and systems to elevate your skills to the highest industry standards.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams - including engineering, production and quality - to produce the subsystems and identify and resolve manufacturability issues early in and during the product lifecycle. This role is crucial for ensuring flight hardware and ground support equipment meet space-grade manufacturing, material, and reliability standards, while being cost effective.

Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Assembly Technician
  • Perform high-precision assembly of mechanical components and structures for advanced subsystems, adhering to strict quality and reliability standards.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, mechanical blueprints, 3D models, and work instructions to ensure accurate assembly.
  • Follow established procedures and work instructions to maintain consistency and compliance with space industry standards.
  • Inspect mechanical fits, alignments, and torques for defects, ensuring assemblies meet cleanroom and space-level requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure timely completion of tasks and continuous process improvement.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, specifically adhering to contamination control and cleanroom protocols where applicable.
What we offer
  • Career development program for specialized aerospace mechanical assembly standards, including comprehensive in‑house training.
  • A dynamic and social work environment within a fast-growing, high‑tech sector.
  • An environment where craftsmanship, precision, and technical dedication truly count.
Education and Experience
  • Vocational education (such as MBO) or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, precision mechanics, or a related technical field.
  • Entry‑level position where prior experience in precision assembly is a distinct advantage but not strictly required.
Mindset and Skills
  • Excellent fine motor skills and hand‑eye coordination for handling delicate components and using precision hand tools.
  • An eager‑to‑learn attitude with a strong commitment to quality, patience, and a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and work instructions in English.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical fasting techniques, torque tools, and material properties is beneficial.
  • Planning and organizational skills to manage individual tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to work in a structured, methodical, and highly disciplined manner.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with precision tools, torque wrenches, and measurement equipment such as calipers or micrometers.
  • Basic knowledge of cleanroom protocols and contamination control procedures.
  • Willingness to undergo in‑house training and certification for specific space‑level mechanical integration standards.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to function effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
