Job summary

Outokumpu Westdorpe is seeking a Mechanical Technician to keep large stainless steel processing installations running smoothly. You will fix mechanical breakdowns and perform preventive maintenance on lines, cranes, and transport systems, spending significant time on the shop floor and collaborating with the technical service and production teams.

We value hands-on problem solving, safety orientation, and flexible, practical thinking to handle on-site challenges and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Mechanical Technician – Outokumpu (Westdorpe)

Will you tinker with large installations, fix breakdowns and ensure everything keeps running? This is your job!

What will you do?

As Mechanical Technician you ensure the factory keeps running. Simply: when something breaks, you fix it. You work on large installations where stainless steel is processed and moved. Specifically: you fix breakdowns (mechanical, sometimes hydraulic/pneumatic) and perform preventive maintenance to avoid problems. You work on machines such as cutting lines, packaging lines, cranes and transport systems. You think along how things can be smarter or better. You work with colleagues from the technical service and production. No day is the same.

What will your work look like?

• You run on-call maintenance (consignment)
• You spend a lot of time on the shop floor among the installations
• Sometimes it's quiet, sometimes you're rushing to fix things
• Safety always comes first

• You have MBO 3 in a technical field (or comparable experience)
• You enjoy tinkering and solving problems
• You don't scare easily from a breakdown (that's what you're there for)
• You work safely and think practically
• You are flexible (not a strict 9-5 mentality)
