Job summary

AddOptics in Rotterdam is expanding its engineering team and seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer. You will own mechanical development projects, design prototypes and tooling, and drive manufacturing process improvements in a fast-paced R&D environment.

The role requires a degree in mechanical-related fields, strong CAD skills, GD&T experience, and a practical approach to problem-solving with good English communication. On-site in Rotterdam, competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on mechanical engineering experience.
• A BSc/BEng or MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• Proficient in 3D CAD and GD&T, with experience in design for manufacturing.
• Hands-on fabrication experience from prototyping to high-volume parts.
• Experience with precision measurement and metrology methods.
• Professional working proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical development projects from problem definition through validation of results.
• Develop prototype designs, tooling, and process improvements for production.
• Design with end-product requirements in mind, considering materials, tolerances, and metrology.
