Wijgaart in the Netherlands is seeking a Matroos to support the Stuurman or Captain on inland ships, sailing the Rhine and ARA area. You will join a close-knit team with modern equipment and a two weeks on / two weeks off schedule, offering good employment conditions and a stable rhythm.

Responsibilities include mooring and unmooring, assisting with loading and unloading, daily ship maintenance, and keeping the ship and cabins in good order.

Qualificações

• Dutch, German and English language skills are required.
• Sufficient sailing time with Matroos notation is preferred.
• Tanker or dry cargo experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• As a Matroos you assist the Stuurman or Captain with all work on a ship
• Mooring and unmooring the ship and assisting with loading and unloading
• Carrying out maintenance such as minor repairs, rustproofing, sanding, painting and polishing.
• Proper maintenance of the ship, equipment and accommodation
• Good language skills in Dutch, German and English.
• Possession of a driving license is an advantage

Training and experience

• Sufficient sailing time with the note of Matroos in the service booklet
• Good language skills in Dutch, German and English.
• Tanker experience / Dry cargo container experience
