Job summary

Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) is hiring a Math Analyst I to apply probability, statistics, and programming to test software designs for gaming devices and systems. The role focuses on statistical testing, data handling for test environments, and collaboration with engineering teams in the gambling industry.

The position requires a Math/CS background, knowledge of C++ and Excel, and the ability to read jurisdictional requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, CS, or a closely related discipline.
  • Associate degree in Mathematics, Statistics, CS or 2+ years of equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Knowledge of Probability, Statistics, and Combinatorics.
  • Knowledge of a modern, object‑oriented programming language such as C++, including appropriate use of object‑oriented design is required.
  • Must have the ability to communicate, both orally and written, with other members of the team and external contacts.

Responsibilities

  • Write programs and perform analyses to calculate needed mathematical features of games.
  • Write programs or scripts to parse or reorganize large data files for testing.
  • Conduct statistical testing on game simulation results and RNG data.
  • Read and interpret jurisdictional requirements, consulting appropriately for interpretation.
  • Review, modify, and document code and analyses.
  • Write project reports by summarizing testing conducted and results.
  • Communicate professionally with external clients and colleagues.
  • Collaborate with the Math Department and other teams.

Y ou love Math, but don’t want to work in a classroom?The Math Analyst I position is an entry-level opportunity for a graduate with a math background to apply their knowledge of probability, statistics, and programming into a real-world application.TheMath Analyst Iis responsible forperforming complex statistical methods to test software designs that impact the products and services in the gambling & lottery industry. Working closely with the Engineering team,the Math Analyst devotes a large majority of time directly towards testing and review, and may focus on standard game analysis, strategy game analysis, and/or random number generator (RNG) analysis.

What You Will Accomplish Here…

The Math Analyst I’s main focus will be on the following:

Testing and Math Analysis
  • Writing programs and performing other analyses to calculate needed mathematical features of games.
  • Writing programs or scripts to manipulate, parse or reorganize large data files into standard formats for testing.
  • Conducting and interpreting statistical testing on game simulation results and on RNG data.
  • Reading and interpreting jurisdictional requirements, consulting appropriately for interpretation.
Reviewing and Documenting
  • Reading and modifying programs and analyses developed by others to meet testing needs.
  • Reviewing, understanding, and documenting source code written in various languages.
  • Writing project reports by summarizing the testing conducted and the results.
  • Carefully reviewing analysis work conducted by others for accuracy.
Communicating Externally and Internally
  • Working with external clients, communicating professionally and courteously on topics of a technical nature
  • Effectively communicating and collaborating with other members of the Math Department and other employees
Experience, Education, Skills and Credentials:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline
  • Associate degree inMathematics, Statistics, Computer Science,or2+ years of equivalent experience may be considered;Certification, formal training, or experience may also be evaluated and considered in lieu of educational requirement
  • Previous related experience a plus; salary willcommensuratewith experience
  • Must have knowledge of Probability, Statistics, and Combinatorics
  • Knowledge of a modern, object‑oriented programming language such as C++, including appropriate use of object‑oriented design is required
  • Must have an understanding of core programming concepts and techniques
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required
  • Must have the ability to communicate, both orally and written, with other members of the team and external contacts
  • Ability to handle and organize multiple projects and deadlines is required
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of attention to quality, details, and correctness
  • Must be able to pass a thorough background investigation
