Job summary

IDM in the Netherlands is seeking a Pipe Fitter to assemble, install and fit marine piping systems on ships and in shipyards. You will read technical drawings and measurements to prepare and install pipe sections accurately, including onboard vessels in confined spaces.

The role requires about 3 years of naval or shipyard experience, ability to read drawings, measure and cut, and a B license. A VCA certificate and EU citizenship are required; accommodation and weekly pay are provided.

Qualifications

• Around 3 years of experience as a Pipe Fitter in naval or shipyard environments (mandatory)
• Experience installing and assembling marine piping systems
• Ability to read and work from technical drawings and piping layouts
• Experience measuring, cutting, fitting, and assembling pipes and fittings
• Good understanding of pipe connections, flanges, and technical installations
• Comfortable working onboard vessels and in confined technical spaces
• Driving licence category B
• Communicative English at B1/B2 level
• Valid VCA certificate or willingness to obtain one
• Motivated, reliable, and able to work independently as well as in a team
• European Union citizenship (mandatory)

Responsibilities

• Installing and assembling piping systems for marine and technical installations
• Reading and working from technical drawings and piping layouts
• Measuring, marking, cutting, and fitting pipes accurately
• Preparing pipe sections, fittings, flanges, and connections for installation
• Installing prefabricated piping onboard vessels and in shipyard environments
• Checking alignment, dimensions, and connections before completion
• Following shipyard safety procedures and working safely in technical and confined spaces
