Job summary

RINA is recruiting an Electrical Yachting Plan Approval Engineer to join the Rotterdam office within the North Europe Marine Division. The role focuses on detailed plan and design reviews for electrical systems on ships and yachts, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and client requirements.

Responsibilities include reviewing electrical and automation drawings, supporting clients during design and construction, and coordinating with teams to resolve design conflicts and ensure project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 3 years of experience in electrical engineering, maritime sector preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical regulations and standards (IEC, ABS, IMO) for ships and maritime operations.
• Experience in evaluating electrical plans and drawings for marine vessels for safety and compliance.
• Ability to collaborate with internal teams and clients to facilitate the approval process.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve drawings of electrical and automation systems on ships and marine equipment, ensuring compliance with Rules and Regulations.
• Assist clients during design and construction phases with guidance on electrical systems and cybersecurity.
• Support elaboration of detailed marine engineering plan reviews per RINA rules and international standards.
• Resolve issues related to conflicting design requirements and material standards.
• Provide on-site support and data collection to support project elements and reporting.
