Job summary

Heppner is seeking a Quality & Safety Manager to safeguard and elevate our quality and safety management across both North Brabant branches (Gilze and Oosterhout). The role requires implementing certifications, guiding audits, and driving compliance with ISO, TAPA, FSSC 22000, SQAS, and Ecovadis.

You will partner with management to address risks, train staff, and enhance KPIs, procedures, and safety standards, ensuring regulatory adherence and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Independent professional who can bridge shop floor and management.
• Experience with audits, certifications and risk management.
• Familiarity with ISO standards (ISO/Safety), TAPA, FSSC 22000, SQAS.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, update and continuously improve the quality and safety management system for both branches in North Brabant.
• Plan, coordinate and support internal and external audits.
• Prepare and monitor certifications (ISO, TAPA, FSSC 22000, SQAS, Ecovadis).
• Conduct risk assessments (RI&E) and safety inspections.
• Analyze incidents and KPIs; drive improvement actions.
• Develop procedures, work instructions and safety standards.
• Advise management on risks, compliance and process improvements.
• Deliver training to raise safety and quality awareness.

What will you be doing?

As a Quality & Safety Manager, you'll be in charge of keeping our quality and safety management system up-to-date, improving it, and taking it to the next level. You'll make sure our company meets all relevant laws, regulations, and certification standards. Plus, you'll be a key sounding board for management and colleagues on quality, safety, and compliance issues. You do this for both branches in North Brabant (Gilze and Oosterhout).

• Managing and continuously improving the quality and safety management system.


• Preparing, coordinating, and guiding internal and external audits.


• Maintaining and obtaining certifications such as ISO, TAPA, FSSC 22000, SQAS, and Ecovadis.


• Conducting internal audits, safety inspections, and risk inventories (RI&E).


• Analyzing incidents, near-misses, and KPIs, and initiating improvement measures.


• Developing and implementing procedures, work instructions, and safety standards.


• Advising management on risks, compliance, and process improvements.


• Providing training and increasing safety and quality awareness within the organization.


• Preparing reports for management, directors, and clients.

What do you bring?

You are an independent professional who easily switches between the shop floor and management. You know how to get people on board with changes and combine a practical mindset with strong analytical skills.

• A completed higher professional education, preferably in Quality, Safety, Logistics, or similar.


• Experience in quality and/or safety management, preferably in a logistics environment.


• Knowledge of ISO standards, TAPA, FSSC 22000, SQAS, and relevant laws and regulations.


• Knowledge of Microsoft/ Excel.


• Experience with audits, certifications, and risk management.


• Experience with KPI analysis and management reporting.


• Good communication skills in both Dutch and English.


• A structured, accurate, and proactive way of working.
