Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam is seeking a Relationship Manager Major Givers to build sustainable, meaningful relationships with alumni, high-net-worth individuals, successful entrepreneurs and social partners who can contribute to education, research and social impact.

You will identify prospects, have personal conversations, and connect their ambitions to opportunities at VU Amsterdam, guiding the journey from gift intention to realisation and stewardship.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in relationship management with donors or similar clients.
• Experience with major donor fundraising or private banking is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills in Dutch and English.

Responsabilités

• Develop and manage a portfolio of major donors and external relations.
• Identify new prospects and map interests, networks, and giving motivations.
• Engage in conversations to build long-term donor relationships.
• Connect donor interests to VU Amsterdam opportunities in education, research and social impact.
• Collaborate with scientists, faculties, and DURF to craft compelling cases for support.
• Guide from relationship building to gift realization and stewardship.
• Ensure appropriate involvement of stakeholders and timely follow-ups.
• Record relationships and opportunities and grow the portfolio.
