Job summary

Black Semiconductor in Zoetermeer, NL, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join the on-site team. You will ensure reliable operation of cleanroom utility systems and take ownership of maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair across HVAC, gas, water, and electrical networks.

Qualifications

• Completed vocational training in a mechanical, technical, or maintenance-related field (e.g., Automotive Mechanic, Industrial Mechanic, Mechatronics Technician, or similar).
• Practical experience working with mechanical systems and a basic understanding of electrical, pneumatic, gas, or utility systems.
• Strong hands‑on mentality with the confidence to tackle unfamiliar technical challenges and learn new technologies.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and take full ownership of assigned responsibilities.
• Problem‑solving mindset, strong troubleshooting skills, and a willingness to work in a cleanroom environment with strict quality and safety standards.
• Comfortable working hands‑on across cleanroom, laboratory and facility environments, including accessing elevated areas by ladder and working in restricted spaces beneath the cleanroom when required.
• Able to safely support physically demanding maintenance and installation activities, such as replacing HEPA filters, operating valves, positioning gas cylinders and moving heavy vacuum pumps. Appropriate handling equipment and team support will be used for heavy loads.
• Strong communication skills in English, ideally also in Dutch to interact with externals, management and operators.

The Role

Black Semiconductor is looking for a motivated Maintenance Technician (f/m/d) to join our on-site team in Zoetermeer, NL.

You will play a critical role in ensuring the reliable operation of all technical systems that support our cleanroom environment. You will take ownership of maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities across utilities such as air handling, gas, water, and electrical systems. This position is ideal for a hands‑on, mechanically minded professional who enjoys working independently, solving technical challenges, and learning new skills in a highly controlled and innovative environment.

No previous semiconductor experience is required. You will receive the necessary training and support to learn the equipment and develop your technical skills.
