The Social Hub is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Amsterdam to keep our hotel running smoothly. You will handle day-to-day maintenance needs—from plumbing to lighting and locks—and perform preventive checks to prevent issues before they arise.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years in a similar maintenance role, ideally in hospitality.
• Strong hands-on technical skills with a focus on fixing things.
• Specializes in plumbing.
• Stays calm under pressure and solves problems on the spot.
• Works independently but is part of a close-knit team.
• Flexible with tasks, schedules, and changing priorities.
• Speaks the local language fluently.
• Brings a positive, guest-friendly attitude to work.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day maintenance issues across the hotel (plumbing, lighting, locks, small repairs).
• Perform daily walkarounds and keep areas clean, safe, and presentable.
• Carry out preventative maintenance to spot issues early.
• Tackle minor painting and cosmetic fixes as needed.
• Coordinate with external contractors when specialist work is required.
• Monitor stock levels for tools and parts.
• Assist the Maintenance Manager on ad hoc tasks.

WhatYou’llDo

• Handle day-to-day maintenance issues across the hotel, from plumbing and lighting to locks and small repairs
• Complete daily walkarounds and keep indoor and outdoor areas clean, safe, and looking sharp
• Carry out preventative maintenance checks to spot issues before they become problems
• Tackle minor painting and cosmetic fixes when things need a refresh
• Support and coordinate external contractors when specialist work is needed
• Keep an eye on stock levels for tools, materials, and spare parts
• Jump in on ad hoc tasks and support the Maintenance Manager whenrequired

WhatYou’llHave

• You have at least 2 years of experience in a similar maintenance role, ideally in hospitality
• You bring strong hands-on technical skills and enjoy fixing things yourself
• You specialize in plumbing
• You stay calm under pressure and like solving problems on the spot
• You work independently but enjoy being part of a close-knit team
• You’reflexible with tasks, schedules, and changing priorities
• You speak the local language fluently
• You bring a positive, professional, and guest-friendly attitude to everything you do
