• Hands-on maintenance of machinery and electrical systems.
• Experience with root-cause analyses.
• Knowledge of PLC-controlled systems is a plus.
• Fluent English communication.
• Own transport and ability to commute to Venlo.

Job description

Our client is looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their logistics operation in Venlo. This is a newly created position within the maintenance team, offering the opportunity to make a real impact and help shape the role from the ground up.You will join a team of two mechanics and act as the technical specialist for more complex technical issues. While the team handles day-to-day maintenance, you will focus on diagnosing recurring problems, identifying root causes, and implementing sustainable solutions. In addition, you will contribute to technical projects and continuous improvement initiatives within a dynamic warehouse environment. What will you do?

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues involving machinery, electrical systems, and software.
• Analyze recurring breakdowns and identify root causes using a structured approach.
• Install, commission, maintain, and optimize warehouse machinery and logistics systems.
• Support and guide maintenance technicians with challenging technical issues.
• Develop and implement long-term technical improvements to increase system reliability and performance.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement innovative solutions.
• Contribute to technical projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and warehouse operations.
• Help create structure and best practices within a growing technical environment.

Requirements

• MBO-level education (or higher) in a technical field such as Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or similar.
• Approximately 3 years of relevant technical work experience.
• Experience working within a warehouse, logistics, production, or automated industrial environment.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on experience with machinery, electrical systems, and technical maintenance.
• Experience performing root cause analyses in a technical environment.
• Knowledge of PLC-controlled systems is a strong advantage.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• A proactive and independent mindset with the ability to take ownership and initiative.
• Own transportation and the ability to commute independently to the Venlo area.
