Job summary

Ignite seeks a Lead Systems Engineer to own the full system architecture for cutting-edge subsea platforms. You will bridge mechanical, hydrodynamic, and electrical engineering to transform digital models into physical vehicles, guiding a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include managing budgets, HITL testing, and delivering end-to-end system integration. Strong experience in systems design for high-performance maritime platforms is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of systems engineering experience.
• Degree in Systems Engineering, Naval Architecture, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Deep hands-on experience in AIT; familiarity with physical constraints (watertight integrity, thermal, shock).
• Fluent in English (C1+); Dutch or NATO-country citizenship with security clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Own the complete system architecture and budgets for subsea platforms.
• Balance payload, speed and endurance to meet harsh requirements.
• Lead integration of high-voltage batteries, control loops, and sensors within physical envelope.
• Oversee HITL validation, test campaigns, and trials from prototype to deployment.
• Mentor a small engineering team across electrical, acoustic, and avionics.
