Job summary

KITT Engineering in Enschede seeks a capable Lead Software Engineer (32-40 hours) to drive software development and mentor the team. You will design and maintain robust software architectures, coordinating with hardware engineers, product developers and project managers to deliver complex projects from concept to delivery.

You bring HBO/WO in a relevant field, strong C/C++/C#, Python, and proven leadership. Dutch and English communication, agile mindset and proactive ownership are essential.

Qualifications

• HBO/WO degree required in Computer Science or a related field.
• Extensive software development experience with embedded systems is a plus.
• Strong programming skills in C, C++, C#, and Python.
• Experience with software architecture, design patterns and agile methodologies.
• Proficient with Git and modern development environments.
• Excellent Dutch and English communication; leadership or mentoring experience is valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide the software team in the development of innovative applications.
• Design, develop and maintain software architectures and solutions.
• Make technical decisions and translate customer requirements into robust software solutions.
• Review code and ensure quality, performance, and scalability.
• Actively participate in developing new products and technologies.
• Consult with customers and ensure smooth cooperation between software, hardware and project management.
